The Complete Guide to the Sirius Dark Auction

The Dark Auction is one of the most exclusive and highly anticipated events in Hypixel Skyblock. Hosted by a mysterious NPC named Sirius, this underground bidding war is the primary source for some of the most powerful (and expensive) endgame items on the server. If you want to secure a Giant's Sword, a Plasma Nucleus, or high-level enchantments, you need to understand how this system works.

How to Enter the Dark Auction

Sirius does not allow just anyone into his basement. The Dark Auction takes place in a hidden room beneath a house in the Wilderness island (located behind the Hub). The event triggers exactly once every three in-game Skyblock Days, which translates to roughly every 72 minutes of real-world time. Our timer above accurately predicts this exact spawn window.

To gain entry, you must meet two strict requirements:

• The Coin Requirement: You must have a minimum amount of coins physically in your purse (not in your bank). This requirement fluctuates dynamically based on the average wealth of the players trying to enter that specific lobby. It is highly recommended to carry at least 50 to 100 Million coins to guarantee entry, as Sirius prioritizes the richest players first.
• The Time Requirement: Sirius only leaves the door open for a few minutes. You must click the iron door in the Wilderness exactly when the event begins. If the lobby fills up with wealthier players before you click, you will be locked out until the next rotation.

What Items Are Sold?

The Dark Auction does not sell standard Bazaar materials like Enchanted Diamond Blocks or farming crops. Instead, it offers a rotating selection of exclusive artifacts, talismans, and magic books. Some of the most highly contested items include:

• Midas' Staff and Midas' Sword: Powerful weapons whose base damage scales directly with the amount of coins you bid on them. A fully maxed Midas weapon requires a massive 50M+ or 100M+ coin bid.
• Ender Artifact and Wither Artifact: Essential accessories that significantly reduce the damage you take from Endermen and Wither-type mobs, crucial for surviving high-level Dungeons and Slayer bosses.
• Tier 6 and Tier 7 Enchantment Books: Books like Sharpness VI, Growth VI, and Giant Killer VI can often only be reliably sourced from Sirius.
• Flower Minion: The only way to obtain this specific minion, which is required to complete the Romeo & Juliette questline.

The Darker Auction (Scorpius)

Occasionally, when the special Mayor Scorpius is elected by the community, the regular event is upgraded to the "Darker Auction." During a Darker Auction, Sirius offers an expanded loot pool featuring even rarer items, such as the legendary Plasma Nucleus or the Hegemony Artifact. Because Scorpius only appears rarely, the economy surrounding these specific items is incredibly volatile, making them excellent investments for long-term flipping.

Bidding Strategies and Auction House Flipping

Many players attend the Dark Auction not to keep the items, but to flip them for profit on the standard Auction House (AH). Because the Dark Auction operates on a blind bidding system against other players in your specific lobby, you can sometimes win an item for significantly less than its current Lowest BIN (Buy It Now) price on the AH.

A smart strategy is to check the current AH price of common Dark Auction items (like the Wither Blood or specific Tier 6 books) exactly five minutes before the event begins. If you find a lobby with passive bidders, you can acquire these items cheaply and immediately resell them for a guaranteed profit margin.
