The Ultimate Guide to the Year of the Witch Event

The Year of the Witch is an exclusive, highly profitable event in Hypixel Skyblock. During this event, players are tasked with hunting specific mob families across various islands to collect unique ingredients. These ingredients can be brewed into powerful stews or traded at the Witch Shop for exclusive talismans and pets. Using our calculator, you can track exactly which items yield the highest profit margins based on real-time Bazaar and Auction House data.

Understanding Mob Families and Drop Rates

To brew stews, you need 20 distinct ingredients. Each ingredient corresponds to a specific mob "family" or class. For example, Dirty Fingernails drop from Humanoid mobs, while Void Ooze drops from Ender mobs. The baseline drop chance for most ingredients is a very low 5%.

Because the drop chance is so low, it is crucial to maximize your kills per minute. Instead of hunting individual mobs, smart players utilize area-of-effect (AOE) weapons like the Hyperion or Spirit Sceptre to clear out high-density spawns in Dungeons or the Crimson Isle.

The Witch's Stews and Magic Find

Your primary goal during the event should be completing the Witch's Stew tracker. There are 20 unique stews, each requiring exactly 64 of a specific ingredient. When you brew a stew and consume it, you are granted a permanent +1 Magic Find for that specific mob family. Completing all 20 stews grants a massive +20 total Magic Find across the board, making it one of the most powerful permanent stat upgrades available for late-game players.

Flipping the Witch Shop

If you have already completed your stews, your excess ingredients can be used to craft items in the Witch Shop, such as the Witch Pet or the Witch's Artifact. Because these items require massive amounts of ingredients, their prices on the Auction House are incredibly high.

Our calculator dynamically divides the current Auction House price of the crafted item by the total number of ingredients required to craft it. This gives you the "Profit/Ing" (Profit per Ingredient) metric.
